Google could bring a separate volume control for calls and notifications

The Android working framework is known for having many highlights, some more dark than others yet one that has been absent starting from the primary variant was sent off almost quite a while back - a different volume slider for calls and warnings.

as per 9to5GoogleThis will at last occur, as Google carried out the ADB order back in December.

The line in question is

adb shell device_config systemui volume_separate_notification set as true

And it’s time for the feature to be released, with either QPR3 or Android 14 in the coming months.

The “Ringer and notification volume” slider will be divided into two different sliders – one for calls and one for notifications only. This way, users can still ignore calls without having to lower the notification sound to 0 or vice versa – hearing calls but ignoring the various beeps and ringing sounds.

Google updated the feature request in their issue tracker with the following: “Requested feature will be available in a future release.” It is very likely that the feature will be mentioned during the May 10 I/O, when Google CEO Sundar Pichai will likely officially unveil Android 14 and announce the launch date.
