- A number of Pixel 7a phones have ended up on eBay.
- Some units have been sold and some are still for sale.
- The Pixel 7a is expected to be launched next week.
As we get closer to Google I/O, the anticipation regarding the Pixel 7a release only keeps building up. While many are patiently waiting for the official launch, some are jumping ahead and buying units from eBay.
First spotted by If-you-See-amy on Reddit, it looks like some eBay sellers got their hands on the Pixel 7a early. And surprise surprise, they’re selling the phone to anyone willing to throw money their way.
The listings reveal the specifications of the phone, such as dual SIM support, Tensor G2 chip, 5G connectivity, Bluetooth, and more. But at this point we already know all this information thanks to previous leaks.
While it’s not uncommon to occasionally see phones on eBay before they’re released, this situation is a little different. The sheer number of Pixel 7 phones for sale is a bit shocking.
Initially, there were several listings on the website with prices ranging from $449 to $550. For reference, the official price of the Pixel 7a is expected to be $499. But on our last check, that number had dwindled to four, and the cheapest option was the 128GB white model.
While it may be tempting to head to eBay to pick one up for yourself, we recommend that you don’t. Even if the seller is legitimate, there is a chance that Google could remotely disable these phones. This will essentially turn the phone into just a fancy brick. Not to mention, the launch is only a few days away.
